What a week at Camp Qwanoes on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm still floored by it. Here's a breakdown:
- We saw at least 31 students high school students surrender to Christ (this is only the number of those who I either heard from personally or saw stand up during chapel).
- We saw about 100 students stand up to re-commit to their relationship with Christ. As they did, I then told them that instead of waiting every year to re-commit, they needed to recommit every day. It was so powerful.
- As I invited students to confess their struggles and brokenness to Jesus on Thursday night, I would guess that about 150-200 students and counselors stood up. After this, we went back into worship as students and counselors encouraged and prayed with each other. After a few songs, the worship leader then invited those who weren't really interested in staying any longer for more worship to go ahead and leave and wait outside for those who wanted more. I would say that maybe 20 people left and everyone just kept worshipping Jesus. This lasted so long that the worship leader ran out of songs. 🙂 I was told that they had never seen anything like that before.
- We saw between 200-250 stand up today to tell Jesus that they were “all-in”, wanting to be used by him in the mission that he has for them to be part of with him.
It was an absolutely INCREDIBLE week, watching Jesus change lives over and over again.
